stock is around 114ft lb/155nm i make 147ft lb/199nm.
I can make it produce 175ft lb, tested on the dyno but we dont know how strong the rods are. The turbo is tiny and simply runs out of flow at higher rpm, thus requiring a bigger turbo. The reason to revs is to make horsepower, if i can make torque higher up the revs then i can make more horsepower without a huge increase in stress (torque) on the engine.
so even if i still made the same torque but held it to a peak of 6500rpm my horesepower would become 147 x 6500 / 5252 = 181bhp vs the 150bhp. This would net me 30bhp increase with no increase in torque
This is also why i am looking at camshafts to help with better flow and rpm but no one i can find lists an aftermarket camshaft for the d4ft. Standard throttle as its not looking to be a restriction currently.
