Thanks, but I couldn't find an answer in the links you gave.
Are you saying this very hard plastic boot can stretch over this wide end of this shaft? It looks impossible to stretch it, it's not flexible.
I ordered a cone from eBay which still hasn't arrived. But I thought I will get a rubber boot and I got this plastic boot.

More than 40years ago I had the same problem.
I disassembled the inner joint, took off the tripode and took off the inner boot.
Then i replaced the outer boot, then the inner boot, after that the tripode.
Do not forget to put grease into both joints, fix the boots and thats it.
What do you think where the photos came from?
I took them myself.

If there is a torque damper on the shaft is has to come off too.
In this case i would buy either a superelastic boot or a completely new driveshaft.

That's what I was thinking to do. I don't think there is other way. The problem is that the inner boot has a bearing that they say you need to remove with a press. I don't have a press.

Seems like all aftermarket boots are thermoplastic. Anyone knows a model which is neoprene? Or I will have to buy a new shaft?

Thanks, do you know the exact model maybe? The shaft should have 31mm diameter and the joint 86mm diameter and 110mm distance between grooves.
I guess you bought the universal Spidan 190972 which is 102mm height 24mm small inner diameter and 84mm large inner diameter.

How hard is it to remove the joint? I pried one side of the star with a screw driver, but the joint doesn't come off. Do I need to tap it really hard? My wise are not strong enough for this I think.

Bei der Paarung Welle Tripode handelt es sich um eine Presspassung.
Ich habe diese mal bei einer R18 Antriebswelle gelöst, dass war schwere 8und gewaltsame) Arbeit.
Ich würde das nicht machen.
Nimm eine superelastische Maschette, meinetwegen eine Universaltype.
Oder kaufe eine neue Welle.
Ja, eine neue Welle wegen einer defekten Manschette.
Was willst du sonst machen?
Wenn du die Triopode zerstörst (Dellen in den Zapfen z.B.) dann musst du sowieso komplett erneuern.
