its a pretty easy conversion for anyone who fancy's doing it, made it fit a 5 speed box and then most parts are bolt on.

Es ist eine ziemlich einfache Umrüstung für alle, die Lust haben, es in eine 5-Gang-Box zu passen, und dann sind die meisten Teile angeschraubt.

Die hatten damals einfach ein JR5 aus einem Clio RS genommen. Würde man ein JR5 vom Diesel nehmen wäre da sicher mehr Topspeed drin.
Finde die englische Motorabstimmung auch ganz gut, auf 300Nm limitiert, aber auf einem weiten Drehzahlband verfügbar, schont sicher etwas mehr die Komponenten als die 340Nm von damals...
Aber der Twingo von 2008 sah einfach so unschuldig aus mit seiner Basis-Karosse, nur die dicken Reifen tragen ein wenig viel auf, 45er Querschnitt würde besser passen, allerdings wäre er dann noch kürzer übersetzt gewesen.

the clio rs has a JC5 and the later a TL4, this has also been build with a diesel JR5 so hydraulic clutch and cable shift work. It should easily do in excess of 150mph it geared for 172mph at 6900rpm.

Indeed the one from 2008 i saw in Germany many many years ago. We, as you say limit the torque to 300lbft (not nm that would only be 220lbft) the conrods and drivetrain are a lot safer there at around 400nm. It was a base version twingo back then, does anyone know if it is still alive?

Can you fit the the 6-speed TL4 gear box in a TwingoII?
I don´t know what happened to the vehicle from 2008, I never heard something again.

you can yes, but it is a weak gearbox. I will probably modify the chassis to accept an Nd0 Megane gearbox in the future. Strong and can take in excess of 400bhp with little worry, the TL4 falls apart with a standard engine

F4rt = fart lol the old engine was a little DAFT D4ft (silly) too lol

I spent some time putting together an intro vid for the Twingo, just trying to cover a lot of the questions I get asked regarding it and giving a little bit of info if you wanted to do the same/similar thing. Its long and poorly edited and probably misses most of the info you want but here it is, don't lay on the hate too thick (y) (I've never tried to edit a video before, unless I can fix it with spanners or a hammer its hard work)
