Standalone ECU for RS133 - singlespeed - 30.11.2013

Recently finished for me, so I will be able to fit the ITB's. A solution for anyone who wants to use a standalone ECU for some extreme tunning

Youtube link to video with a short demo

The car is now having the throttle bodies fitted and will be mapped correctly once they are fitted Cool

Hey singlespeed ...welcome here ....nice to see you here too.

This is why I needed a standaline ECU Confused

AT-Power ITB's
Shaftless oval throttle plate. This significantly reduces the restriction caused by using a shaft, which allows them to have the plate closer to the cylinder head without disturbing the airflow

Loads of room. Well, there will be as soon as the expansion tank moves to where the battery used to be

I think the 133 is an unpopular choice for tunning over here. A bit of a shame because the chassis can take so much more Sad

RE: Standalone ECU for RS133 - 666records - 14.12.2013

no, the 133 is popular! But our german "TÜV" don't like buildings like this and the Police catch your Car and don't let you drive with it anymore on the Streets! I think the most 133 drive are afraid about the Police. If you open the hood you look directly on this interesting building.

An english speaking threads are not as popular as the others...some people don't wan't to translate their own words (it's hard for me, too to write a text in english)

Yes this are very well crafted throttle-boddies, but (as the guys said before) it´s not possible to get the homolugated by the TÜV here in Germany. Maybe nice for motor-sports.

Regarding your question, there are some existing, but you have to do the calibration work by your own.

For example Megasquirt:

or EFI

or others...

Hey, and VW-parts are a no go in a Renault...the coolant tank of an old Clio might have fitted, too....Wink

Twisted Evil Wow! This is tech-porn!!!

Getting this parts street legal in germany will be a lot of work and even more money.

In germany the "street law" say´s that when you´re changing the "mixture preperation" (google), you have to bring a certification that the wast
gas is not worster than the law allow´s it - the same is the challenge for the noise made by the engine.

It is possible to get a certificate, but the "TÜV" has to proof your car, an this will cost round about between €1.500,- and €2.500,-
- wast gas certificate - starts at 1.100,- (how new is your car?)
- dyno sheet - starts at 150,-
- driving noise - starts at 280,-

the next problem could be, if the car getting to much power, you have to make clear thet the brake ist big enough for the "new more power"

And bringing it to the TÜV for certification is waste of money, because this throttle boddies work only with appropriate cam-shafts and a free flow exhaust system....two things that that are not a good base for EuroV....
