AVL Schrick camshafts - RS133 - singlespeed - 08.03.2012 Schrick list cams for the K4M Megane and Laguna. Has anyone fitted them to the RS133 Twingo? http://www.avl-schrick.com/dat/MK/Schrick%202011%20E.pdf RE: AVL Schrick camshafts - RS133 - Oliver - 08.03.2012 I think they are not suitable for the TwingoII RS. 1. They are for the old K4M engine without inlet camshaft phaser (K4M with 79kW) and the TwingoII RS has one. 2. They might be "softer" than the OEM ones of the RS. Do you know the valve timing and the valve lift of the stock camshafts of your TwingoII RS?!? RE: AVL Schrick camshafts - RS133 - singlespeed - 08.03.2012 I suspected they will not be a direct fit, being from a K4M 7xx instead of the newer K4M 854. It looks like Catcams have given up, so we are hopeing Schrick may work something out. Is anyone interested? Yotah1 (Nurburg ring Meister) may be able to get to the Schrick factory to let them measure up the RS133. This is what I wrote. The outlet camshaft might be worth a try, but I think the inlet camshaft won´t fit at all, as it has no flange and no oil-drilling for the de-phaser and also not this square for the cam-position sensor.... RE: AVL Schrick camshafts - RS133 - singlespeed - 09.03.2012 Thank you Oliver. Hopefully Schrick will be able to produce something suitable RE: AVL Schrick camshafts - RS133 - singlespeed - 09.03.2012 Thank you Oliver. Hopefully Schrick will be able to produce something suitable RE: AVL Schrick camshafts - RS133 - singlespeed - 10.03.2012 I have found and now purchased a used cylinder head assembly which will be here in a few days, so there may be some progress towards replacement cams. RE: AVL Schrick camshafts - RS133 - Oliver - 10.03.2012 Of a TwingoII RS133?? Why don´t you simply buy the cams of the Twingo R2??? Schrick álso won´t donate them to you... ![]() http://my.twingo.rs/v/oliver/R2/Auslass_NW.JPG.html?g2_imageViewsIndex=3 http://my.twingo.rs/v/oliver/R2/Einlass_NW.JPG.html?g2_imageViewsIndex=3 http://my.twingo.rs/v/oliver/R2/ RE: AVL Schrick camshafts - RS133 - singlespeed - 13.03.2012 (10.03.2012, 15:35)Oliver schrieb: Of a TwingoII RS133??Yes, from an RS133 Twingo Zitat:Why don´t you simply buy the cams of the Twingo R2??? Schrick álso won´t donate them to you...Will the R2 cams be usable on a road car? I beleived the expected life was short, due to them having negative radius cam profile for fast closing of the valves. Changing cams as a service item doesn't interest me, unless that is incorrect Would the R2 ECU also be needed to run a usable fuel/ignition map RE: AVL Schrick camshafts - RS133 - Oliver - 13.03.2012 (13.03.2012, 10:47)singlespeed schrieb: Yes, from an RS133 Twingo Then the first step would be to meassure these cams regarding thier timing and their lift. Also meassure the base circle. (13.03.2012, 10:47)singlespeed schrieb: Will the R2 cams be usable on a road car? Sorry I can´t tell you this. But I think the RS133 is very restricted due to EU5 norm. I wonder always abotu the quite low maximum torque value... RE: AVL Schrick camshafts - RS133 - singlespeed - 16.04.2012 Right. For a while, theres been rumour of Catcams making, or indede having made a set of cams for the K4M-854 engine, which runs a VVT pulley on the inlet cam. However, it all went quiet which is why I thought about Schrick as well as Catcams http://www.twingo133.net/engine-gearbox-exhaust-air-intake-system/cams-t258.html http://www.twingo133.net/engine-gearbox-exhaust-air-intake-system/k4m-cams-t4919.html I filled out the 'contact us' form on the CatcamUK website and then gave them a call. Speaking with Mathew, apparently they were previously promissed a head and cams to measure, before they could get something made or even guess wether a K4M-700 cam would fit with some drillings etc for the VVC... The promised head and cams never materialised so the project was abandoned. Anyway, as you may know I found a spare head, complete with cams which I'm intending to get modified to improve the ports. So, with a head and cams to measure, they could get a profile machined up... Being as the porting work hadn't started yet, I pulled it out and it's now at the couriers ready to make it's way South. I'm after a fast road profile, with the emphasis on more mid range torque between 3K-5500 which is where the best gains in drivability will come from. Bragging rights of top end power isn't too important to me and, gaining loads of top end power is fine if your constantly over 6K, which I doubt many people are unless they haven't sussed out theres more than 3 gears. As this is now highly likely to happen rather than just talking about it, who's still interested? RE: AVL Schrick camshafts - RS133 - singlespeed - 16.04.2012 Right.
