C3G engine head removal - Twingo 95 - ronenfe - 05.06.2018

Hello, Can anyone help me with this process?

Is there any tutorial here for this kind of job?

Also anyone was anyone able to use the XR25 port and connect it to a computer and read the codes?

OBD via XR25 is obsolete,
its better to tell us, whats wrong with the car.

The most effective way ist to buy a Renault CAN CLIP Clone.
Costs about 120€.
It works.
If you have no money and lots and lots of time, search the web for DDT2000.

My head gasket was repaired by a mechanic 1.5 years ago and now I have to do it again, I have air getting in the system. It blew on a hot day, but the overheat light never turned on. and Thermometer I installed showed 110 degrees max.

So no one could connect this 12/11 pin square connector to a USB?

Thanks for the link it will help me a lot.
Is there the same entire workshop manual in English? I only have a few files of it in English.

RE: C3G engine head removal - Twingo 95 - cooldriver - 05.06.2018

I guess you are in a dead end.
You have to understand the entire manual ,
pdf file is named, mr_mot_c(e).pdf .
Its only french and german, for what i know.
Some notes: turn cylinder head before lifting, so the liners not moving.
You can fail easily. Vent clearance checked ?
Cooler warms up ? CO test positive?
Temperature warning is at 114 degrees, so i remember.
OBD is insufficent att all , its only possible to read out some sensors.

I removed the 2 nuts of the exhaust manifold using a 13 mm socket, an impact wrench and a flexible extension like this with the right adapters.

I Better find new nuts.

New nuts should have the Renault dealer.
To remove the ignition distributor could be challenging.
(move cylinder 1 in tdc position at first ).
Please share your experiences.

Do you know of a good online store for buying Renault parts?
Can't I leave the distributor attached. It doesn't look like it's blocking the head.

RE: C3G engine head removal - Twingo 95 - Broadcasttechniker - 11.06.2018

The distributor doesn't have to be fineadjusted because the timing doesn't depend on its position.
So I would remove it.

I removed it, the bolt of it was very loose. Shocked
It's actually going smoother than I thought to remove the head,
Do I have to keep track of each of the 10 head bolts locations or I can mix them?

Easier than I expected

Old bolts are not recommended, but should be possible.
I would never do that.

What do you think of the head, it has pittings and the black part on the left is sunken.
